Alabama A&M, which won the regular season and SWAC Tournament titles last season, is primed for a repeat performance. The Bulldogs return the premier player in the league, Obie Trotter, who was the SWAC s Player of the Year and the SWAC Tournament MVR Trotter averaged 15.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.75 assists per game. He also led Division I by averaging 3.9 steals per game. Sophomore Marcus Jones teams with Trotter to give the Bulldogs the best back-court in the league. Alabama A&M also returns forward Joseph Martin, who averaged 13.7 points and 7.7 rebounds, fourth-best in the league.
