After the '05 disaster, anything is possible especially in this division. But Andy Reid should have his club back in contention with a healthy Donovan McNabb, an amped-up "D" and a pledge to run the ball more. The division is strong top to bottom, and the Eagles finish with three of their final four games on the road vs. NFC East opponents. Though they might not be all the way back, the Eagles should at least make it back to respectability.
Head Coach: Andy Reid (Regular-season 05 record: 6-10) Defensive Coordinator: Jim Johnson
Last season with Donovan McNabb injury and break up from Terrell Owens. Eagles need to restructure their team and get McNabb healthy so once again they get into the playoff run. Alot of problems have been fixed by Andy Reid and his staff feel they got their players needed for the team to make a difference. We will see this season and fans have also called for a bounty bowl for TO's Head as he play's for philly's most hated rivals the Dallas Cowboys.
2006 Team Draft Notes: The Eagles have pick up a penetrating defensive tackle, as the team made Florida State defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley the No. 14 selection in the 2006 first round NFL Draft. Bunkley should team with free-agent signee Darren Howard to provide an instant upgrade to the Eagles defensive line. The Eagles then went offense with their second pick, grabbing USC offensive tackle Winston Justice at No. 39. After taking Cal Poly defensive end Chris Gocong in the third, the fourth round brought two more big names: Max Jean-Gilles from Georgia and Jason Avant from Michigan for a wide reciever postion. Then came one of the most interesting picks in the entire draft, as the Eagles selected Colorado wide receiver Jeremy Bloom at No. 147 in the fifth round.
McNabb now must be treated as a pocket passer who occasionally will catch defenses off guard by scrambling. He should be at full health and could rebound to his '04 level, because he possesses excellent feel and touch. But the loss of Owens is significant. McNabb has a new backup in Jeff Garcia, who's on. his fourth team in four seasons. Garcia understands the West Coast system D very well, and though he flamed out in Detroit, the backup role serves him well here.
